I really, really hate doing this. I'm going to do a friends cut because I just perused my flist and realized I didn't know half the people on it, either because they never post/comment or didn't comment on my FO entry. As I said before, I'm kinda nervous with people I hardly/not know going through my entries as I do post tidbits of my newer fiction and I've had enough brushes with plagiarism to last me a lifetime.

This journal is about my and my life and stuff, so if you're here only for my fanfictions, I'd suggest adding houmatsu. For updates on how much I've written and such, you can read all about that on my fanfiction.net profile. :)

I'm really sorry guys and I absolutely mean no offense, but to go through lots of entries of people that I hardly know and trying to comment on everything (thought it's obviously not working XD;) is getting on my nerves.

Are you going to write other pairings than ItaSaku?
I aim to become the ItaSaku 'queen' [Queen meaning I'd like to master ItaSaku in every way possible, whether a canon or AU story], so me writing other pairings than ItaSaku seems highly doubtable at this time. I might write some SasuSaku one day, but I won't post it on ff.net.

What are the other pairings you prefer?
I read pairings with Sakura only, since Ino and the others just don't fascinate me enough. ItaSaku, SasuSaku, NaruSaku, GaaSaku, KakaSaku, YamaSaku & NejiSaku are my favorite pairings with our favorite roseate kunoichi though.

Do you have a degree?
I'm amazed how many people asked me about this. No, not yet, I'm still attending high-school and I plan to study Japanese & Economics in two years from now.

Do you ever read other stories? I never catch you reviewing.
I read a lot of stories, but to be plain honest, I dislike reviewing. This is why I only review when a story has absolutely caught my attention and needs a review. I'm special like that. Besides, isn't it more thrilling when you get a review from someone who reviews perhaps 10 times a year? (Note that the only one I review on every chapter is Celtic Oak.)

Didn't you use to write Fushigi Yuugi fanfiction? What happened to them?
I'm surprised people even remember me from that. o_O Yeah, I used to write Fushigi Yuugi. I started out with them when I was 14 or something, and then went on hiatus for a year or something. When I wanted to start out again, I thought Fushigi Yuugi was getting boring and started writing Naruto fanfictions, then after a while, delete the Fushigi Yuugi ones, because honestly, they were embarassing and I wanted to list only Naruto fictions in my ff.net profile.

What's with you and character death?
My dear, where does good angst come from in Naruto? Character death! ... And Itachi. WELL GUESS WHAT? MitsukiShiroi uses both. Because she likes to make people cry and thinks that there cannot be angst without said factors.

Where the hell is Sasuke?
When you're done reading Metamorphosis, you continue with Evolution and there all questions shall be solved. It's easy like that.
Why did Sakura leave Konoha?
Simply put, she wanted him back because she missed her team. And she loved him. Whichever you find more important.

He's Akatsuki, ofcourse he's not. But I didn't care and made him the mushy Akatsuki member. Sue me.

Such a big word. It's up to you whether to believe if he loves her or not.

Nah, three arcs was enough. I needed three arcs to put in everything that I wanted in there and the story is now officially over. What happens after the end of Salvation? I'll leave that up to your imagination, although most of you can guess what happens in the end.

I love the Metamorphosis trilogy, but Salvation chapter 10 is seriously the end.

Twilight...

Who are you working with?
Phantomica. Which is a great honor to me because when I asked her about making a collab, I actually expected her to laugh in my face. Imagine my surprise when she told me she was honored, lol.
What's it about?
I don't really want to reveal a lot about Twilight. Suffice to say that it's a very dark, very sad story. It's an AU, so expect different characters than the Metamorphosis trilogy and such. We'll be bringing some characters into the mix that I'm sure you don't expect. :P It's ItaSaku though, but there will be no DeiSaku this time around.
Do you think it's going to live up to the Metamorphosis trilogy
Hm, excellent question that's been asked numerous times. I'm not quite sure actually. Metamorphosis started out pretty... bland, imho, but drew a lot of readers and a lot of fans. I'm curious as to whether I can live up to it, because Metamorphosis and the two later installments, have become huge standards for me which I have to live up to, so I'm quite scared that readers won't like it. Twilight is completely different from Metamorphosis and in a very other direction than most of you will be expecting.

We'll see how it turns out.
Will the other Akatsuki play a significant role like your other stories?
Hm, I guess they will have a minor role, as opposed to my other stories. Don't expect any twisted love-triangle like ItaSakuDei and such for Twilight though.
How long will the story be?
Not that long. We estimated it at around 8 chapters, which is basically nothing when it comes to our record, haha. I didn't want to make it that long seeing as I do have my other project on which I'd like to work on, and Twilight is basically a short tale that has to be told. It doesn't span over years like Metamorphosis etc does.
Will Sakura end up with Itachi?
Who knows.
Why did Phantomica quit?
Unfortunately, she didn't feel like writing anymore, abandoned her own fictions and thus I continued on my own.

I'm honored to write a collab with Phantomica, but if I would accept more collabs, I would kind of lose my own insights in stuff and I like working alone, though the idea we've formed for Twilight was amazing. So it's not special treatment, it's just a one-time thing.

Do you find Itachi OOC in your stories?
I do actually. I realize that every Itachi should be OOC; Itachi capable of loving is just not possible. So to make the relationship between Sakura & Itachi romantic, one must make Itachi OOC. Though I find that he's extremely OOC in the earlier chapters of Metamorphosis, which is precisely the reason why I'll be revising them.

Akatsuki is being OOC in your stories. Is this intentional?
I still firmly believe that every person has some good in him. Kisame being a fun drunk at times, Deidara being mushy when it comes to love, Sasori being angelic and serene most of the time, these are all examples in which I view Akatsuki. I don't wish to make them extremely OOC, but to make them ruthless killers only is too mundane for my taste and to be quite honest, I do feel that it's not fitting enough for the Akatsuki members to stay two-dimensional killers with no past and no other feelings.

I'd love to write a collab with you!
I'd love that too, but unfortunately, I'm getting loads of requests for this and have to deny them. Sorry.

Why do you dislike writing lemons?
I dislike writing smut, it's simple as that. I feel that making love can strengthen a bond and that precisely why I write it, to give the relationship more depth, but that's honestly the only reason.

Are you working on a novel?
As a matter of fact I am. It's small right now [100 pages only, I'm such a procastinator] but the idea of the entire story is set in my mind, together with the ending, so it's just a matter of working towards the end.

Can I translate one of your stories into my language?

Do you take requests for fics?
Nope, sorry. I'm too busy with writing and other stuff at the moment to accept requests.

Simply because I have the entire plot thought out already about my stories. I know exactly what will happen in what chapter and if I'd take suggestions like plotchanges, changes in the writing style or just simple sentences, it might throw it into dissaray. It doesn't mean I don't read them though.

Are you ever gonna write oneshots?
I have a SasuSaku oneshot planned, but I prefer novel-length stories over the oneshots. It gives more room to convey things than in oneshots.

I'd rather not, sorry. My MSN list at the moment is crowded with loads of people I've spoken to once or twice and can't remember anymore. I get added by people on a daily base so that can be a tad disturbing. I don't think I've received this question from anybody on my livejournal list, but that's because they're actually able to read the reason, lol.

In honor of school, I've been restricted to work on the computer for 3 hours. Which makes it fairly impossible for me to vomit out chapters at the rate I used to have [One chapter a week] and reduced it to around one chapter a month. Please accept the fact that my school and my restriction make it hard for me to keep in touch with my friends AND write, so please be patient. I try the hardest I can, it's not like it's my fault that I'm four times as slow as I used to be with my chapters.

What happened to the recommendation list?
It was gone for a while, but I put it up again since a lot of people have been asking me for it. I'm screening it for friends only though, so you'd have to have a livejournal in order to view it. For those seeking to view the disapprovd list; I only give this right to a few people that I truly trust in seeing me as an unbiased person and know that they won't make a problem out of it.

Will you PLEASE beta my stories?!
I'd love to, really, but I just... lack time enough to write my own stories and beta other stories. Right now, the only story I beta is Poisoned Cherry Blossom, and that's quite enough for me. I'm really sorry, but I just can't handle more. T_T

I guess it's just perceptions. I used to be a n00b too and promoted my fanfictions to some authors that wrote the same pairing, mostly because I wasn't too sure how stuff worked on ff.net. I didn't know whether people could find your fictions or if you had to direct them to it, so I basically went around and 'promoted' it until I realized that that was not the way to go and quit doing it. XD

Also, people think I'm a bitch because I hardly review and stuff and say that it's more special that way. Honestly, that's just my perception on things. Although I love and appreciate every review (even if it's a flame or harsh crit) I think it's more special when someone reviews who hardly reviews at all, because it shows that your story is so interesting and fascinating that that person had the urge to leave a comment behind, which is a beautiful thing imho. A lot of people don't agree with me on that, but that's your opinion.

I'm really not a bitch or anything, but I don't care if you think that way either. I don't have an ego either, in fact, I'm very insecure about writing and about plots and stuff. It's just the fact that I want to become an author that I keep on going on and don't give up on it. I don't think it's quite fair to judge someone on an essay they wrote in which they were harsh, and a mistake I made with the recommendation lists (and apologized for) and because I used to review often but changed my opinion on that.

But like I said, everybody is entitled to their own opinions.

You should watch what you're saying, shouldn't you?
I've been getting this question a lot and yes, I should. I guess I didn't quite realize how many people read my stories and livejournal and such until the ItaSaku essay and the recommendationlists surfaced.

I don't care for internet popularity, as most people call it. It's even quite sad imho as people strife to become famous on the internet and don't have a real life irl. But when I started writing and the trilogy became quite known to the fandom, I wasn't even aware that so many people read it. Of course, I saw the reviews, but it just didn't click with me until I posted up links to fanfictions I liked and I saw the reviews for those stories skyrocket because I recommended them; or people abandoning other stories because I disliked them and put that on a list.

For this reason, I've become quite afraid to post my opinion on anything, which is why the entire recommendationlist is unaccessable to everybody who I don't know particularly well. I also contemplated getting the ItaSaku essay off, but in the end, rewrote it, because a lot of people ask me for tips when it comes to characters and such, and the essay was helpful because I could just direct people to that place.

I don't even see myself as a 'popular' person on the internet. I'm just an eighteen year old girl behind a screen who has quite an imagination and writes that stuff down, like every other author for ff.net out there.

Is is true that people treat you like a celebrity?
Omg yes. Seriously, to everybody who's afraid to contact me and PM stuff to me, please don't. I've had PMs from people feeling giddy because it felt as if they were talking to a famous person, and that made me feel quite uncomfortable ^^;

Like I said before, I'm just your average teenage girl. There's nothing special about me, and internet popularity doesn't mean that you have to treat me like someone famous as well. ♥

ItaSaku writings

Rewritten on the 3rd of March, 2007

I was getting quite sick of this essay and it's flames because as said by someone else, it's flamed to hell and praised to heaven and everybody has a different interpretation on it. So I wanted to delete it and then decided against it.

This essay was created for authors who would like to write a believable story. One that can fit into the storyline of Naruto. Of course, every fiction is different and every fiction will not resemble the truth as Kishimoto has planned [unless you have psychic abilities], but authors can try to make it somewhat canon and that's why this essay is here. To plainly tell you which things are OOC and will never happen in the original story line and some tips to help you build up the characters.

I don't care if you call me an elitist bitch, or if you hate me or lose all respect for me afterwards. A lot of people do find this essay helpful and my help concerning fictions has been requested numerous times by various people, so I figured I'd write it out and put it on LJ.

Also, please remember these are my guidelines. People have been asking me how I develop characters, what kind of things I keep in mind and this entire essay is basically about the workings of my mind when it comes to ItaSaku. By no means at all is this an essay to write ItaSaku, because nobody truly has the answers how to write a fanfiction that everybody likes.

If you hate it, so be it, leave a comment if you must and go on. If you like it, I accomplished my goal. That's all.

Haruno Sakura

This is Haruno Sakura. She's been devoted to Uchiha Sasuke ever since she was a child and has a very strong connection with him, even professing her love for him. Although it's unrequited love, it's fair to say that Sakura is still not quite over him, even though he left years ago.

Sakura loves Sasuke. She's a medic ninja, and she's powerful; don't underestimate her abilities!

Uchiha Itachi

Uchiha Itachi; one of the many enigmatic characters of Naruto.

All we know about him is that he's a sadistic bastard who presumably killed his entire clan bar Sasuke [although a lot of fans have their own opinions about this, let's just keep this in mind]. He joined the organization Akatsuki several years ago and is an S-Class missing criminal.

Itachi is cold, calculating and will do everything for power.

RANT:

Meeting:

Itachi & Sakura have met once. In a manga chapter during the Gaara arc after the timeskip. Yes, that's it, only once.

Itachi never spoke a word to Sakura, nor did Sakura say anything to Itachi. The only thing about Itachi that she remembers is that he's the man Sasuke wants to kill and that Itachi is the man who murdered Sasuke's family ~~and forced Sasuke to go all angsty on us~~.

They have not met ever since.

Fanfiction:

Truth be said, most people believe that there aren't many options you have with ItaSaku stories. Five actually and ironically enough, they are the most cliche storylines:

1. Itachi never betrayed the clan and is still living with the Uchiha clan.
2. Sakura leaves Konoha for Sasuke, Itachi finds Sakura and takes her with him as a hostage to lure Naruto.
3. Sakura and her other teammates get the order to hunt Akatsuki down, Sakura meets Itachi.
4. Alternate timeline as in divertion from the storyline, such as Sakura leaving with Itachi once she met him in the manga chapter.
5. Alternate Universe (and for the love of me, I cannot understand why everybody thinks AU means Highschool fictions.)

There are few other options, but hardly none. In Konoha, Itachi risks the danger of being caught. The only way of Sakura and Itachi building a relationship would be outside of Konoha, which seems almost impossible.

So these limited choices for the usual plots have been proven as an obstacle. But, unfortunately, rather than to perk the author's attention with these obstacles, people tend to go for the obvious plots [points at the five options above]. Then, the characters slowly turn OOC or the story turns into a plot which makes you say "been there, done that."

That's seriously not a good thing.

In every essay there is, a few points are stressed and one of them, which is potentially the biggest factor that needs to discussed is originality.

Granted, most of us start out with the plots mentioned above. I know I did when it came to Metamorphosis, how else was Sakura going to meet up with Itachi and fall in love with him? So, I took the easy route, Sakura left Konoha, went to search for Sasuke, stumbled upon Itachi and is taken along.

Halfway through, I started remembering the essays I had read about writing fanfiction. Is it all right to go with the flow and do a similar story like others had done before, or could I possibly divert from all of this and make up an original story line. If Sakura is in Itachi's grasp, it's not game over, not by a long shot.

In the original story line, Sakura will fight for Sasuke. She'll give up her life for him if necessary. Sakura will fight until she's either dead or away from Itachi at any rate. She'll probably be scared of him, but Sakura's will is strong. Never underestimate this point.

All authors wish for a few things. Some want to get reviews and improve themselves, some want people to read it and that's enough for them, some want to be published writers someday, but regardless of what you're trying to do when writing, have fun in writing and try to be as original as possible. Those are the most important points.

Sex:

The majority of the ItaSaku, let's be honest, is based on sex.

We have fictions where Sakura is under Itachi's control and he makes her his pet, or where she's blatantly raped by Itachi, stories where Sasuke is Sakura's husband and she sleeps with Itachi, stories where Sakura is drunk and sleeps with Itachi... You name it, the ItaSaku fandom has got it.

Okay.

Again, refreshing your memory, this is for stories that want to be believable and somewhat canon. In fanfictions, everything can happen, I understand that. They can have sex like bunnies, and Sasuke can watch quietly, but we're not talking about stories like those at the moment.

Canon!Sakura hates Itachi. She hates him for everything he's done to Sasuke. She probably hates him for trying to steal away Naruto as well. Along with Orochimaru and some others, I think it's safe for us to assume that Sakura, truly despises Itachi.

Canon!Itachi is anti-social. He grew up in a cold house where he was expected to excel and become the best ninja in his clan, if not the best ninja of Konoha. He is incredibly polite to everybody but Sasuke, which indicates that he was raised well. Itachi is a sadist. He likes to torture Sasuke and seems to have quite some fun when torturing Kakashi. Is Itachi the raping type of guy? Maybe; most probably not. If you'd ask me why, I'd tell you to find some analyses about rapists and compare them to Itachi. He might fit on a few points, but he won't fit on most.

Bottom line; Sakura and Itachi would never sleep with each other in the canon storyline. This is a fact. Neither one is interested in each other.

ItaSaku fanfictions should be calmly build up if you'd like them to be somewhat canon. They will not accept each other at first and it'll take a long time before they'll even start liking each other. Itachi and Sakura having sex in the first chapters is highly unlikeable [unless you're writing AU or a story where they're together already].

Give them time to get used to each other, to like one another and when the time is ripe, they can sleep with each other. At least, that's my advice.

OOC-ness

Every fanfiction has OOC-characters in them. When writing ItaSaku, Itachi will be extremely OOC, and so will Sakura. It's a crack-pairing.

However, one can try to stay true to their personalities and characteristics.

In many stories, Sakura has just fallen out of love with Sasuke. This can happen, but give us an explanation. Is it because she realized that he might never return her affection? Is it because she never really loved him in the first place, as opposed to what the anime/manga is trying to tell us?

As described in the tips, Sakura is a spirited, strong young woman, with a fierce personality that makes her loyal to friends, and she loves Sasuke very deeply. She has to love him deeply or she'd never have offered him to go to Orochimaru.

Will she fall in love with Itachi instantly? No. Will she think he's attractive even though his actions disgust her? Maybe.

Will Itachi fall for her? This is the big crux. Maybe, probably not. He's a heartless killer who thinks emotions make one weak. He'll think Sakura is weak, so make sure to incorporate that into the story. It doesn't matter how strong Sakura is, it's the emotions that will make her weak in Itachi's eyes.

Itachi is cruel, ruthless, cold, un-caring, calculating and cares about no-one except himself [although ItaSasu fans might disagree with me, haha].

Sakura is a cheery, intelligent, warm person and does everything she can to protect the ones she loves.

Whatever you do, don't forget those traits. Fanfiction is there to alter them, and shape them into characters that can love each other whilst it's completely impossible in canon, but keep her Sakura and keep him Itachi. They're already beautiful characters made by Kishimoto, don't re-write them, edit them.

Unlikely/Impossible scenarios

This is all according to me, feel free to discard this list.

- Itachi will never sacrifice his life for Sakura.
- Itachi will never admit to loving Sakura.
- Itachi will never pick Sakura above Akatsuki. Power is everything to him.
- Itachi will never be redeemed. He is a clan-killer and will be just that until he dies.
- Itachi will never be kind-hearted, warm or dance around with bunnies.

- Sakura will never sacrifice Sasuke for Itachi.
- Sakura will never accept being Itachi's hostage.
- Sakura will never stop fighting against Itachi.
- Sakura will never stop having conflicted emotions.
- Sakura will never give up on Sasuke without a solid reason.

And now for the tips and stuff. These are just listings of the common traits of both Itachi and Sakura, paired with a few tips that will make your writing experience somewhat better and more fun.

Tips to keep Itachi IC (in Character):

- Make him cold, ruthless and calculating
- Keep him as polite as possible, Itachi knows his manners
- Itachi is not a savage beast, he's not the type to rape girls around
- Even after initial feelings for Itachi, abid by the first three things I gave you
- Never make Itachi sacrifice his life for Sakura; it's OOC to no end.
- Itachi values his own life more than other lifes. In a life-threatening situation, Itachi would make sure that he comes out alive before even risking anything to save Sakura.
- Itachi is strong <- important point. Many of you underestimate this guy. He is not weaker than Oro.

Tips to keep Sakura IC (in character):

- Make her warm, intelligent and strong
- Sakura is not a slut, don't let her sleep with Itachi during the first meeting
- Sakura despises Itachi for what he's done to Sasuke, don't forget that
- Sakura should be afraid of Itachi. He's much stronger than her and let's not forget that Sakura actuallt values her life.
- Sakura would never betray Naruto by helping Itachi to get him
- Sakura LOVES Sasuke. Either work with her feelings or make sure you tell us why she's stopped loving him
- Sakura would NEVER join Akatsuki voluntarily. Akatsuki hunts Jinchuuriki. Big no-no since Naruto is her best friend

Tips for their relationship:

- Make their relationship angsty or romantic/angsty. Romantic as in fluffy all the time is a big no-no for ItaSaku.
- Do not make Sakura forget about Sasuke. Her loyalty for Sasuke should still be visible in your story
- For Christ sake, stop making Sasuke magically fall in love with Sakura in order to create ItaSasuSaku
- Stop doing the hostage versus mean Akatsuki-thing. It's irritating and un-original. If you do insist on doing the hostage thing, make sure Sakura breaks free from it or something.

Again, these three things are all the guidelines for my fiction. You can stray away from them or use other standards. This is just how I view Itachi, Sakura and their relationship.

Tips for writing better fanfictions:

- Get a beta. Beta-readers are your best friends. Make sure the beta is a NATIVE English person who is utterly neurotic about grammar and can pick out those small, irritating mistakes.
- Try to keep the descriptions low key. It's horrendous to read through huge chapters filled with descriptions and hardly any conversation
- At all costs, try to keep the characters in character. Nothing irks writers more than out of character Itachis and Sakuras having sex like rabbits.
- Do not - I repeat - do NOT insert OC's falling in love with Sakura or Itachi. If it's ItaSaku, it's ItaSaku. Make it a love triangle if you feel like it but please, NO ItaSakuOC.
- Have FUN in writing. Don't write if you don't feel like it because it will always show in your writing.
- Don't stretch the story. If you run out of ideas or feel that your plot is running thin, try to end it as soon and as best as possible. There are a lot of good fictions out there which started spectacular but the authors tried to stretch them and they ended up lousy. Don't allow your fic to be the same.

Wow, so that was a huge rant (it took be 2 hours to type it all). Remember that I'm just trying to help all of you and not trying to assault you guys.

Well hay! Mitsuki here, nineteen year old female from the Netherlands, with a mixed heritage (Japanese/Chinese/Indonesian/Dutch/American). Love for writing, reading, animanga, J-Music and movies. Trying to take over the world and know six languages before the end of my life (Dutch, English, Japanese is check, all that's left is Chinese, Spanish and German.) Trying to become a published novelist.

I'm especially active on fanfiction.net, as mainly an Itachi x Sakura author from the series Naruto. Most who have added this journal know me through either there, Narutoforums.com or the icons I make. 8D

Well, what to say? I'm your general nineteen year old female. I like to hang out with my friends and work myself to death with two jobs (though I work on a novel as well). I write and read in my spare time and wish to become a published novelist one day. I also aim to live in Japan after studying time is over (I'd like to get my bachelor in Japanese & Economics and my masters in Creative Writing).
